ATTENDANCE
Though the Worship Choir & Orchestra is a volunteer ministry, people join out of a God-given passion, desire and calling. This is a “skilled” area, not just a “service” area. It requires work, rehearsal, and refining which results in worship leading experiences during the Sunday morning service and other events.
It is understood that members will occasionally have to be absent for such serious matters as: illness or death in family; work conflicts; vacation of other absence from the city; conflicts with family responsibilities.
1. Illness that is not serious enough to keep you home, should not keep you out of choir or orchestra. Even if your voice isn’t working very well, your physical presence (or absence) speaks volumes to our church family.
2. Music is generally rehearsed well in advance, so missing a rehearsal should not prevent you from singing the following Sunday. For the same reason, we ask that you attend rehearsals even if you must be out the following Sunday.
3. If you find that regular attendance is impossible, ask for Leave of Absence until you’re able to return.
4. When it is necessary to be absent from any rehearsal or service for any reason, notify the Music Office in advance in one of the following ways:
- Send us an email.
- Write it on the “Are You Going to be Out" calendar on the back counter.
- Call the Music Office 822-1670 x 602.
5. If you have guests in the service, consider it a privilege to have them hear you sing or play!
6. Your greatest ability is your dependability; so when you’re in town be in choir or orchestra!
