“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied”

I.                   Hunger and Thirst

A strong desire; intense longing.

You should have a passionate hunger and thirst for righteousness.

II.                Righteousness

Righteousness is “a pattern of life in conformity to God’s will.” 

A.     Desire to be right with God

2 Corinthians 5:21, “God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

B.     Desire to do what is right

How do you do this? Romans 12:9

1)      “Abhor what is evil.” - Ruthlessly separate yourself from sin

2)      “Hold fast to what is good”  - Zealously pursue righteousness

C.     Desire to see right done

III.             Satisfied

Word used for feeding animals or fattening cattle. Also to have plenty; to be fully satisfied.
