Luke records in 3:21-22 that Jesus’ public ministry started with a prayer, and now it closes in prayer."...and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." --Isaiah 53:12 "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." --Matthew 5:44 "But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would never have crucified our glorious Lord." --I Corinthians 2:8 "You nailed him to the cross and murdered him." --Acts 2:23 "Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.” --Acts 3:17 "And as they stoned him, Stephen prayed, 'Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.' And he fell to his knees, shouting, 'Lord, don't charge them with this sin!' And with that, he died.” --Acts 7:59-60 “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them." --Hebrews 7:25 “...But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One." --I John 2:1 A truth to take with you: Hope - God draws a wide circle of forgiveness
