I. Peter's principles

A. Even during our greatest spiritual highs, we are vulnerable to temptation.

B. We are to have less confidence in ourselves and a greater dependence on God.

C. A failure in courage to stand for God is not a failure in loving God. 

D. The more we are threatened by the crowds of the world, the more likely we are to deny Christ. 

E. Responding to failure with a repentant heart lays the foundation for greater service in the future.

II. Jesus' response to our failures

A. Provides crowing roosters to convict us.

B. Stands ready to forgive and restore us.
