"Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God."
--Psalm 31:5

I. We have contentment because Jesus' Father is our "Father"

"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are."
--I John 3:1

"...but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!'"
--Romans 8:15

II. We can be content in whatever circumstances because of our communion with God

"...for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content."
--Philippians 4:11

III. We can be content because as believers we are safe in God's hand
"My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."
--John 10:29

IV. We can be content because we should not fear death
