I. The Seeds of Failure are sown in the Soil of Success

A. A Sense of complacency replaces the Spirit of Expectancy

B. A Sense of Invincibility replaces the Spirit of Humility

C. A Spirit of Entitlement replaces the Spirit of Gratitude


II. Pre-emergent for the Seeds of Failure

A. Complete Obedience (2:2)

1. We must fully obey God's commands so we can take full advantage of His blessing.

B. Pursuit of Holiness (2:3, 11-12)

1. We must completely remove anything offensive to God so it will not be a thorn or snare to us. Trying to master anything offensive to God is the start of becoming its slave.

C. Faithful Stewardship (2:1)

1. We must properly handle God's blessing so we do not endanger future generations.
