The Foundry – Bessemer, AL All Year
The Foundry Rescue Mission and Recovery Center in Bessemer is a center of transformation with a wide range of ministries including the Recovery Program, Re-Entry Program, Worship Center, SuperThrift Outlet, Auto Center, Community Outreach Center and Medical Center. Everyday men and women find refuge and long-term recovery in its innovative and Christ-centered programs. Volunteer opportunities throughout the year are available. This team will work with GIC missionary Pastor John Thomas and Living Hope Community Centre in Cape Town in helping to minister to those impacted by the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Living Hope is a project with three objectives: one, to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in a life changing way and to encourage people to follow Christ; two, to play a vital role in the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS; and three, to undertake community development through educational and health related programs. Come be a part of this exciting project.

First Love Choir Tour – Location TBD March 12-16
This junior high choir team will be working and performing in a location to be determined. Activities include performing daily at a variety of venues as they share the love of Christ through music and dance and work on several community service projects.

University Ministry – New Orleans, LA March 12-17
This University Ministry team will spend Spring Break working with Poydars Baptist Church in New Orleans as they help in revitalizing the church complex and reaching the surrounding community with the Gospel. Work will include painting, grounds work and telling people about Jesus.

Northfield, VT March 13-18
This mission project is SMBC’s first to Vermont. This team will work with GIC church planters and will help host several ministry events as we partner with this church in reaching their community for Christ.

Our high school students will go to Matamoros, Mexico, to work with Adventures In Missions. The goal of this ministry is to build up the local church so that through the ministry of the local church, Matamoros will be changed for Christ. Much of the ministry of

Community Restoration – Birmingham, AL Saturdays: April – May
This ongoing mission project on Saturdays in April and May is perfect for Sunday School classes and small groups. We need teams of 12 – 15 people to commit to adopt work at one house. This work includes light construction and renovation on homes being refurbished as part of an overall community restoration project and can be completed in 3-4 Saturdays. All materials and supervision will be provided; what’s needed are willing hands and hearts.

This team will be the first to work with SMBC members living and serving in North Africa. The team will lead a business conference for local business owners and entrepreneurs. The conference will focus on the business success stories of the trainers, as well as leadership and life principles that local businessmen and women could apply to their context.

Azores May 7-15
This mission project is SMBC’s first as part of a new partnership in the Azores. This team will work on the island of Terceira in partnership with Azorean Baptist Church and will help with general repair and facilities updating, painting, and light construction as we help build a children’s camp that will serve both the children of Air Force families at Lajes Air Force Base and children across the Azorean Islands.

West Africa May 21-29
This team will be the first to work with SMBC members living and serving in West Africa. The team will come alongside our member family and visit villages each day that are inhabited by an unreached people group. Activities include prayer walking, sharing Bible stories, and building friendships with village leaders.

This high school choir team will be working and performing in Dagsboro, Delaware serving with GIC church planters, Andy and Tanya Ehlers. Activities include performing daily at a variety of venues as they share the love of Christ through music and dance. This team will also work on several community service projects.

South Africa – World Cup June 19-30
The World Cup comes to South Africa in 2010 and this team will have the opportunity to utilize this unique sporting event as a way to share the Gospel. Three World Cup soccer matches will take place in Cape Town during June 20-30, and this team will help host World Cup viewing parties in townships around Cape Town by taking the games to those that cannot afford to go. During these viewing parties, the team will provide hospitality services and the Gospel will be presented. Come be a part of this event that only happens every 4 years!

University Ministry City Uprising – New York, NY June 27-30
City Uprising is a unique opportunity for people to unite in the world’s great urban centers in order to propel the local church and prosper the city. Through intensive worship and service experience City Uprising hopes to inspire resolute commitment to the local church, raise awareness of the need to reach the world’s major cities with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through new churches, and build a bridge into the heart of the city through love and service.

Jordan July 2-10
This team will continue our partnership in Jordan as we help renovate a camp and conference facility. Activities include light construction and clean-up, painting, groundskeeping, and beautification. No prior construction experience is required. This project will also include 3 full days of touring Israel and the Holy Land. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to not only serve but also experience the people and land of Jordan and Israel!

Peru July 3-11
This medical and church planting mission team will work with E3 Partners Ministry. The team will be working on two fronts: first, there will be daily medical clinics meeting basic physical needs by treating hundreds of patients per day; and second, there will be daily door-to-door evangelism ministry and sharing of the love of Jesus Christ, along with discipleship follow-up. The goal of this mission project is to glorify God by partnering with local churches to help them plant new churches by doing evangelism and discipleship in neighborhoods without churches.

The excitement in Zambia is remarkably visible as Jesus is building His church (Matthew 16:18) through His church. Many Zambian evangelical churches are embracing e3 Partners Ministry vision, working together to establish churches throughout Zambia where there is no church within walking distance of the local men, women, and countless children! Our partnerships with Baptists, Christian Community Church, Revival Fire Ministries, Church of Central Africa Presbyterian, Justo Mwale Theological College and The Reformed Church of Zambia allows us to involve many nationals to reach these areas of rural Zambia. This mission project is SMBC’s first to San Francisco as we partner with a new church plant called Epic Church. This team will work with GIC church planters and will help host several ministry events as we partner together in reaching this community for Christ.

This mission project is SMBC’s first to Utah. This team will work with former GIC church planters and will help host several ministry events to help this church reach their community for Christ.

Nolensville, TN November 5-7
This team will work with GIC church planters Jay and Shantel Watson and Life Community Church in Nolensville. Life Community will be hosting a fall festival and expect 150-200 participants, and this team will help facilitate the festival. Activities include games, hosting booths, and face painting along with other ministry events.

Spain November 5-13
This team will partner with a new church plant in the northern Spanish city of San Sabastian, a beautiful oceanfront city on the French border. The team will work alongside the pastor and church members as we help host a variety of outreach events including a business training seminar and life application classes.
