Wednesday Night activities are opportunities to connect with others and grow deep together through purposeful community. In the Shades Kids Ministry, children have several venues where they can join purposeful gatherings designed to teach and train them to serve the church and the world.
Kids Worship Choir
Kids grab on to songs of praise with joyful innocence because we were made to worship! In Kids Worship Choir, your child will develop a lifestyle of worship as well as musical skills as they learn to express love & adoration to God through singing, instruments, choreography, drama, and games. This is the next generation of worship leaders, and the beginning of a journey of worshipping God that will last a lifetime.
Kids Worship Choir takes place on the Second floor of the Worship Center beginning at 6:00pm-6:45pm. Children grades 1-6 are invited to participate in choir.
Missionaries in Training (MIT)
Here at Shades, missions is at the heart of all we do. It’s part of our DNA. So teaching our kids about missions is extremely important to us. MIT is our missions education program for kids in grades 1-5. During MIT our goal is not only to teach our kids about current mission work all around the world but to show them how they can be a missionary right where they are. They will learn about missionaries serving locally and globally, pray for those missionaries and also have the chance to be involved in hands on projects where they can learn to be “Live Sent” in order to discern where God may be calling them for His kingdom. We want to spark in our children a life-long passion for sharing Jesus with others.
MIT takes place on Wednesday Nights from 6:45pm-7:30pm on the Second Floor of the Worship Center. Children are split by grade and gender into small groups for effective and pointed study. Children are also given the opportunity to participate in service projects intended to give them hands-on experience in missions work.
For more information on MIT or to volunteer on Wednesday Nights, contact our Children and Preteen Ministry Coordinator, Cynthia Moss.
