In compliance with Shades' plan to not meet in large groups, we will provide resources on this page with lessons, activities and more that you and your kids can do from home.
We want to help equip you and your family to be able to study the Bible at home over the next few weeks. Each week we will send out an email that will include a lesson, an activity, and video links. These emails will go out on Friday afternoons.
In April, we are learning about what happened after Jesus died on the cross.
- April 5 Easter Saturday
- April 12 Easter Sunday
- April 19 Great Commission and Ascension
- April 26 The Promised Helper Comes
Children’s Worship Bulletins
Each week we will have worship bulletins you can print off for your child to use while you watch the Live Stream of the service. There are two different ones: younger (ages 3-6) and older (ages 7+). You will notice at the bottom of the bulletin, it has a web address. This is for online games that relate to the Bible passage studied. You must use the code on the bulletin to get access.

MIT-Wednesday Night Lessons
For the last several weeks in MIT, our kids have been learning about the five different major worldviews. We use the acronym THUMB to remember them. They are Tribal, Hindu, Unreligious, Muslim and Buddhism.
Go here to sign up for a 5 day devotional that will help you discuss each different worldview with your child. You could do one a day or one a week; whichever fits best in your schedule. There is also an option to sign up for a 30-day prayer guide via email. You will receive information about different people groups around the world and how you can pray for them.
As you discuss each different world view, ask your kids the question: “How would a person with this worldview likely view the situation our world is currently in?” Then contrast that with how we as Christians view this situation. How does Jesus change how we look at things? I’m sure many of your children know at least one person with one of these worldviews. This study will help them to understand that person a little better and think of ways to share Jesus with them.
Kids Worship Choir
We’ve created a Spotify playlist with our Spring Worship songs, and also with some great worship music addressing fear, and having courage in the Lord! You can access it here.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging…When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
You can access all of Doorpost Song’s Scripture-based songs & family devotionals here. Enter the code MNVJ972P and all downloads will be free of charge. This is a great resource, especially during this time when we can’t meet face to face.
Right Now Media
Each family at Shades has a membership to Right Now Media. This is a great resource for videos and Bible Studies and it’s all FREE!
This is the link if you haven’t signed up for an account:
We will periodically send computer friendly links to certain videos. However, to use on your mobile device, download the Right Now Media app in your app store and follow the keyword searches we provide.
