WHY ORPHAN CARE?

  • There are approximately 143 million orphans worldwide. Every day 5,760 children become orphans. Each year 20,000 children age of out the US foster care system.
  • Jesus has commanded Christians to be the solution.
  • Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. - James 1:27
  • Earthly adoption is one of the most power pictures of our spiritual adoption in Christ. We were once fatherless but are now rescued out of the spiritual "orphanage" of our world into God's family. Because of this, our capacity for sharing and demonstrating the Gospel – and our obedience to God's mission – will expand as we learn to care for orphans.
  • Adoption and foster care increases our diversity in the church and opens our eyes to the dire physical, and, more importantly, spiritual needs throughout the world.

OUR MISSION

The goal of our ministry is to help bring awareness to the plight of numerous orphans around the world while demonstrating God's hope for a better future. We also aim to provide resources, education and support for our members involved in the loving care of children in need. We hope to recruit new foster parents and adoptive parents and provide a helping hand to the many local agencies involved in the care of these children.

There are currently 1,038 foster children across Jefferson County.
That’s 1,038 lives that have been disrupted and left scared and confused.
That’s 1,038 opportunities for the Church to care for the innocent children in our area.

This is the story of how a destructive family cycle was broken in our church.
