We are thrilled you're considering the Ministry Equipping Center at Shades. The Ministry Equipping Center is our church's process to equip people for high-level leadership, church planting, and missions through the local church. It helps us fulfill our mission of "sending transformed people to influence their world for Christ."

Who is this for?

The Ministry Equipping Center is for any person considering:

  • High-level ministry leadership at Shades
  • Going as part of a core team for a church plant or replant
  • A call to vocational ministry or missions
  • A call to plant or replant a church

What is the Ministry Equipping Center?

The Ministry Equipping Center is a two-semester program based on materials provided by the North American Mission Board. Those who participate will receive:

  • Content designed to develop you as a ministry leader. This will be delivered through an online portal. All content is centered on core competencies essential to church leaders.
  • Personal coaching. Twice a month, you will meet with a Shades ministry leader who will coach your small group (no more than three people). These times are designed to reinforce the core competencies and help participants integrate them in leadership
  • Monthly leadership luncheons. Pastor Danny Wood or members of the Shades executive team will lead these gatherings. We will discuss key topics for developing the DNA of a leader at Shades. Lunches occur on Thursdays from 11:30am to 12:45pm.

How much time will I commit?

The Ministry Equipping Center will require two to three hours a week for two semesters. The majority of this time is spent interacting with content on the online portal. Participants will also create a one-week ministry intensive experience designed to apply what they learn in real world, mission scenarios.
