Music has a divine effect upon divinely influenced and directed souls. Music is to the soul what wind is to the ship, blowing her onwards in the direction in which she is steered. Not allowed to sing that tune or this tune? Indeed! Secular music, do you say? Belongs to the devil does it? Well, if it did, I would plunder him of it, for he has no right to a single note of the whole gamut. He's a thief; every note and every strain and every harmony is divine, and belongs to us. So now and for all time consecrate your voices and your instruments. Bring out your harps and organs; and flutes and violins; and pianos and drums and everything else that can make melody! Offer them to God and use them to make all hearts about you merry before the Lord!
–General William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army
Worship choir is open to all adults who are committed to serving God wholeheartedly in this ministry and who possess sufficient musical gifts to allow their voice to adequately match pitch and blend with others.
Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 7-8:20 in the Music Suite located on second floor Worship Center. Childcare is provided.
We meet at 9:05 on Sunday mornings in the Music Suite for rehearsal and prayer before our worship service.
Our student worship choir provides a dynamic and exciting way to minister throughout the year. We are given the privilege to lead out in Sunday morning worship throughout the year. We also get to be a part of the legacy of a great Christmas production each holiday season. In the Spring, both Middle School Worship Choir (MSWC), grades 7-8, and High School Worship Choir (HSWC), grades 9-12, focus on getting ready for their individual mission/choir tours.
Rehearsals for student worship choir resume Sunday, September 10 at 5 p.m. in the Student Building.
“From the lips of children and infants come songs of praise to you…” Psalm 8:2
Kids grab on to songs of praise with joyful innocence because we were made to worship! In Kids Worship Choir, your child will develop a lifestyle of worship as well as musical skills as they learn to express love & adoration to God through singing, instruments, choreography, drama, and games.
Kids Worship Choir participates in our annual Christmas program, leading worship during our Sunday morning worship services, as well as Spring musical performances.
This is the next generation of worship leaders, and the beginning of a journey of worshipping God that will last a lifetime.
Senior Adult Choir, or The Jubilee Singers, meet every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Hearth Room, for great music, fun and fellowship This group goes on the road and participates in several off-campus concerts throughout the year!
